My name is Vicki Shaw and I am the founder and principal of Ashridge Mediation.  Having gained over 30 years’ corporate business experience in Australia, Asia and Europe, I apply that knowledge and the skills I have learnt  in my work as a mediator and family dispute resolution practitioner with the aim of assisting people in conflict to reach agreements that satisfy their respective needs. 

I am also the parent to two young adult children and enjoy a large network of friends and colleagues from a wide spectrum of backgrounds and life experiences. This has taught me the value of listening, the need for empathy and the necessity to respect a different point of view. 

In most disputes there are always different perspectives: "your" needs, "their" needs and a mutually acceptable compromise. My role, whilst remaining impartial at all times, is to help clients discuss their requirements in a calm and equitable environment and bring parties to a workable solution. 

My communication skills, perceptiveness and attention to detail are excellent and supported by a range of professional qualifications which include:

• College of Law, National Mediation Assessment

• NMAS accredited

• Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution, Australian Institute for Social Relations which included work experience and training with Relationships Australia. 

• Accredited as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner by the Attorney-General's Department

•  BA in French and Sociology, University of Reading, UK
